Martian Death Flu

Well, so much for workshops and lovely working retreats and so on – we all (mum, me, & El) came down with some godawful toxic conglomeration of flu & tonsilitis & sinus infection & asthma & so on. I did manage to get some work done on a few pieces, but it was creatus interruptus what with spending half my time barking like a seal or gasping for breath & trying not to choke/barf/pee and 5+ hour waiting time in ER and numerous trips back home to see our own doctor (who is leaving us, dammit – I really hope it is for the reasons she told me, and not down to homophobic shitsacks like the one she apparently barneyed with in the local paper while we were gone. Not that I’d expect her to put up with miserable working conditions & horrible people just because she’s the best doctor I’ve ever had, but she’s the best doctor I ever had so if they contributed at all to her decision I wish all those bigots would just go enjoy that afterlife they so devoutly wish upon others).

ANYWAY.

My PIF treat arrived from Delta while I was away – very nifty little address book covered in rust-dyed fabric with embroidered leaves and a beaded dragonfly. I took a photo of it to post, but I’ve been moving furniture around and apparently buried my camera somewhere. I hope. If it’s not buried amongst the mess somewhere, that would mean I’ve LOST it, and that would really suck. Knowing me I put it somewhere safe … I will post photos of my lovely address book as well as assorted WIP & inspirations.

I have a metric buttload of phone calls to make now that I can speak in whole sentences again. Looks like I’m going to be doing classes at my place at least for a while, since competition for space at the shop is getting pretty fierce. Hence the furniture rearrangement and the mislaid camera.

Apologies to those who’ve commented recently – when I started using the laptop I somehow left out the email address that notifies me, and I haven’t been checking the blog itself. Partly because when I was feeling up to writing etc I’ve been designing a new template for my blog. Sorry.

Tis very late & I believe I’ve exhausted my three functioning braincells, so I’ll try to catch up tomorrow.
